the challEnge
The objective was to create an engaging experience for retail store managers, while educating them on the new Microsoft products. Many of these managers are familiar with the products and devices, but we had to find a new way to create excitement around the training experience.
Our Solution
The initial concept was planned and created as separate, modular areas that came together to tell the story in one cohesive loft space. We rendered the interior and exterior elements in CAD software as a complete loft space. Vignettes from different areas of the loft were created to see how the products work in different environments. The wall panels printed were based on the virtual 3D spaces we designed; Microsoft Lifestyle Imagery was utilized as an inspiration for the wall panels. The vignettes were populated with furniture, photography and artwork inspired by the Microsoft Lifestyle Imagery used. All the details in the design, graphics, furniture and decor combine to create a look well suited to the interior of a loft while highlighting the functionality of Microsoft’s products.
The Result
The 'Loft' exhibit was designed with the user experience in mind. We created a space that allowed store managers to interact with Microsoft's products in the same way they would at home. Making these connections between the products and real-life situations improved manager’s retention of product information and allowed for easy in store training post event.
